Yesterday, I watched IW in IW.
For those who are scratching their heads at that statement, it’s an in-joke that started with this image from Japhers on Facebook:
For the uninitiated, IW = Infinity War. But it also stands for Innocent World, one of the major Japanese lolita brands.
- JSK – Innocent World ‘Palace Rose’
- sheer blouse – offbrand
- underskirt – Bodyline l353
- bag – ahcahcum muchacha
- shoes – vintage
- mini hat – Foxcherry
- necklaces – offbrand; cameo is from Mayi
When everyone is shrieking ‘NO SPOILERS! NNNNNO SPOILERS!’ it really only means one thing. As such there will be no spoilers in the rest of this post.
The fluttery sleeves of the blouse are a nod to the capes in superhero movies, but the key Infinity War touch is the jewelry. Without spoiling anything, it’s a nod to the six gems on the Infinity Gauntlet.
I think Thanos was actually my favorite part of the film. I put off watching it for a long time despite the hype, because something about his design reminded me of Mr Freeze as played by Arnold Schwarzenegger in Batman & Robin.
Which… was not very subtle. I was at least glad to be proven wrong in that aspect, Thanos is great. And the movie was so very
oh right no spoilers my bad
I’d still watch it. Just… bring something to break afterwards.
