February is one of the busiest times of the year at my workplace. After weeks of constant activity, it’s wonderful to be able to relax with friends over tea. However, finding a good place isn’t just about the food and drink, but also about the atmosphere and attitude of the staff: which is why Perry’s in McKinley Hill has become one of my ideal restaurants to visit.
Monique hosted the tea meet, so in the absence of a set dress code, several of us decided (on our own) to dress in black to suit her usual tastes.
The twist in this story, is that Monique herself was not in black. Neither were Novelle and Shawntel, so that balances out, haha.
We split the sets amongst ourselves, since each set is enough for two people.
There’s a nice mix of savory and slightly sweeter things. The problem was, the long ride to the meet had sapped me of my energy and it took awhile for my stomach to accept anything. However, what I did manage to eat turned out to be excellent.
Monique wore a wonderfully airy coordinate, a happy cross between Mori and Dolly Kei, I believe. Her headband has a faintly middle-age vibe, and that green dress could be coordinated in so many ways!
Camille (@camellianoir) wore her real hair with Innocent World‘s Tasha JSK. From the stock photos this looked strictly Classic, but it pairs up so well here with a black blouse and boots. The tiny carriage pin and pearl chain look as if they were made to go together.
I wore Juliette et Justine‘s Amour d’ Amants, with an offbrand blouse and dot tulle underskirt. JetJ is surprisingly shorter and more loose than I thought. In lieu of a typical belt, I wore a wide green ribbon tied in a bow.
Mayi (@mayipuffs) wore a black JSK from Metamorphose with an Axes Femme blouse. It’s great for the warm weather we’ve had lately. This is a solid piece with plenty of details: tiers of pintucks and bows. Her purse matches perfectly, too – it’s a really cute touch.
Novelle wore a super-cute strawberry JSK with a cotton princess-sleeve blouse and a huge bow in her hair. It’s a great summer-y coordinate!
In stark contrast to the summer weather pressing in on all sides, Shawntel (@magnifishawnt) wore a coordinate reminiscent of winter. The beret gives it a bit of a Cardcaptor Sakura feel!
Joanna wore a casual coordinate; before we were finished taking photographs, we had to move to the outdoor area because of a private event. Pau arrived an hour or so after. The wind was extremely strong outside; my hat went flying right off my head. A reminder that we should do coordinate photos as soon as possible, but then several people were late…
